You’re correct that there should only be 2 outcomes in a Binomial distribution.

In terms of throwing a die, yes there are 6 possible outcomes. But in this specific question, we already know the specific outcome that we’re looking for in a die roll, which is 5. So, we can transform this problem into a Bernoulli trial: if we get a 5, then it’s a success and if we get any number outside 5, then it’s a failure.
